That dense navy blue has been prized since the Egyptians ground it for pigment, and the little flecks of gold running through these chips are pyrite, part of the raw stone. The white streaks are calcite. Together they make each chip its own small landscape. Lapis lazuli on a stretch cord that pulls over the hand, with the stretch setting the size rather than a clasp.
